Our agriculture and energy sectors are evolving across the nation. How can community colleges meet the growing workforce demands of these evolving industries in their regions, while providing students with pathways to good jobs?
A recent CCRC webinar, Introducing the Advanced Infrastructure, Energy, and Agriculture (AIREA) Data Explorer: A Tool to Understand Community College Alignment With Labor Markets explored this question.
CCRC researcher Maria Cormier and Cameron Sublett of the Foundation for California Community Colleges presented findings from an analysis of data on AIREA jobs and community college credentials and introduced the AIREA Data Explorer, which allows users to investigate community college alignment with regional workforce trends. Kate Kinder from the National Council for Workforce Education and Carla Grandy from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office offered insights on implications of this work across regions.
