CCRC partnered with the Connecticut Community College System to study the impact of developmental education policies on student success.

CCRC served as an evaluation partner for AMTEC, a consortium of 25 community colleges and 21 automotive manufacturing and service companies.

Through interviews with students and faculty and classroom observations, CCRC researchers examined students’ persistence and leaving processes at two urban community colleges.

CCRC examined community college noncredit workforce instruction and contract training, reviewing state policies in all 50 states and conducting case studies of 20 community colleges.

CCRC developed and tested a curricular supplement called the Content Comprehension Strategy Intervention with developmental education students at three community colleges.

CCRC used student record data to investigate the persistence of dual enrollment students in postsecondary education compared to similar peers who did not participate in dual enrollment.

This project tracked the experience and outcomes of low-income students, students of color, students who enrolled in college at an older age, and part-time students.

CCRC collaborated with Jobs for the Future and the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems to help states use data to improve students' college access and attainment.

CCRC examined access to postsecondary opportunity and educational achievement at the City University of New York (CUNY) for immigrant and racial/ethnic minority students.

CCRC investigated nurse preparation and the workplace demands of novice nurses, comparing baccalaureate and associate degree programs in nursing.

This study examined the development of new programs and their place within the evolving community college mission of workforce development.

CCRC used national survey data to compare the characteristics of occupational students in community colleges with those of their peers in academic programs and students in baccalaureate programs.

This study explored the structures, conditions, and practices of web-based education at 15 community colleges.

CCRC undertook a national survey of community college involvement in adult education for the Council for the Advancement of Adult Literacy.

The National Center for Postsecondary Improvement (NCPI) joined with CCRC to pursue an exploratory study comparing for-profit and public two-year colleges.

This study examined the outsourcing of instruction at community colleges to independent firms—a growing but still limited practice largely confined to noncredit courses.

August 2008–January 2011

CCRC examined the factors influencing states' decisions to implement or not to implement performance funding for higher education and the demise of two performance funding programs.
