With this project, CCRC collaborated with Jobs for the Future and the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems to help states use data to improve access and attainment by underserved students at community colleges. The project was carried out in partnership with the 10 states involved with either the Ford Foundation’s Bridges to Opportunity initiative or Lumina Foundation’s Achieving the Dream initiative. (One state, New Mexico, was involved in both initiatives.) The national partners worked with each state to develop a plan for better using data that they already collect to inform improvements in state and institutional policies and practices that will benefit underserved community college students.
