Each paper in this series synthesizes evidence from the existing research literature to draw conclusions on a particular topic and to provide concrete, evidence-based recommendations to practitioners, policymakers, and researchers. The first eight reports (on developmental assessment and placement, mathematics pedagogy, contextualization of basic skills instruction, online learning, nonacademic support, institutional and program structure, and organizational improvement) were released in the spring of 2011.
