Development and Use of State-Level Longitudinal Data Tools and Performance Metrics

March 2012–August 2016

CCRC partnered with the community college agencies in three states (Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia) and New York City to extend previous analyses of student progression, course-taking patterns, transfer, and completion at the college level to the state or system level. CCRC conducted research and developed and implemented data tools for use in informing state- and system-wide reforms aimed at increasing student completion and success. As part of this work, CCRC partnered with these systems to develop and field-test performance incentive systems metrics that adjust for student characteristics and other risk factors and include measures of cost efficiency.

This project was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
