Student Success Courses

May 2009–December 2012

Student success courses provide new students with information about the college they attend, assistance in academic and career planning, and an introduction to techniques for improving study habits and other personal skills. This study examined student outcomes from course participation. It also examined the policies, practices, and implementation challenges at three colleges in Virginia using qualitative methods.

This study was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and by Lumina Foundation for Education.
