Mariel Bedoya-Guevara

Senior Research Assistant

Mariel Bedoya-Guevara is a senior research assistant at CCRC working on projects associated with dual enrollment pathways and tracking transfer students. She is currently a PhD student in Economics and Education at Teachers College (TC), Columbia University. Her research interests center on the formation of beliefs about early childhood development, and early career experiences that can shape prosocial attitudes and subsequent career paths into the public sector. Prior to joining TC, Bedoya-Guevara worked as a senior research associate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), where she was in charge of the implementation and evaluation of various randomized controlled trials in the education field in Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Chile. Previously, she worked at Innovations for Poverty Action in Peru, the Ministry of Education of Peru, and the Group for the Analysis of Development in Peru . Bedoya-Guevara holds an MA in economics from the Barcelona School of Economics and a BS in economics from the Universidad de Piura in Lima, Peru.

The Postsecondary Outcomes of High School Dual Enrollment Students: A National and State-by-State Analysis

Using NSC data, this report presents national and state-by-state findings on the postsecondary enrollment and completion outcomes of high school students who began taking dual enrollment college courses in fall 2015, tracked for four years after high school.

Tracking Transfer: Community College and Four-Year Institutional Effectiveness in Broadening Bachelor’s Degree Attainment

These two reports use student data disaggregated by race/ethnicity, neighborhood income, and age to measure the performance of two- and four-year institutions in enabling students who start college at a community college to transfer and complete bachelor’s programs. State-by-state breakdowns of transfer metrics designed for use by college and state system leaders are included in the reports and in an online data dashboard.
