Joe Hille

Research Assistant

Joe Hille is a first-year master's student in the Arts and Arts Education program with a concentration in community engagement at Teachers College, Columbia University. He holds a BA in liberal arts with a concentration in multimedia communications from Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, NY. Hille served as an Americorps member with City Year New Hampshire in Manchester, NH in the academic year 2021-2022, where he used his TEFL certification to work with a classroom of twenty-six multilingual fourth-grade students on social emotional education as scaffolding to support the standard curriculum. He is dedicated to providing his current and future students with a classroom space that prioritizes equity, understanding, and an artistic approach in all disciplines.

At CCRC, Hille assists in the completion of a cost-benefit analysis study of Federal Work-Study programs at select CUNY schools. His role focuses on the design of survey and interview protocol. Hille's work with CCRC will complement his dedication to creating equitable learning spaces and meaningful relationships with his students by familiarizing him with the intricacies of the convoluted education system they exist within and which lies ahead of them.
