Selena Cho is a senior research assistant at CCRC working on the Virginia Workforce Recovery, CUNY Corequisites, and Regional Education Laboratory Northwest projects. Cho conducts qualitative research on students’ experiences in college, student supports, faculty learning and engagement, and partnerships between community colleges and four-year institutions. She is especially dedicated to elevating students’ perspectives and voices to play a larger role in the research, practice, and reform that shape their educational experiences.
Cho holds a master's degree in education policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, specializing in qualitative research methods. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University, where her thesis research focused on the racialized historical and political development of vocational postsecondary education in the South. Cho was also a member of the Education Studies Scholar Program at Yale, for which her capstone project focused on the importance of place-based history education and developed a place-based curriculum about the history of school desegregation in her Florida hometown.
