Joshua Thomas is a Ph.D. candidate in Columbia’s Economics department whose research interests focus on the accumulation of human capital through education and family dynamics and include investigating the differences across underrepresented races (URM) and socioeconomic status levels. At CCRC, Thomas supports many data-intensive projects documenting graduates’ labor market trajectories. Prior to Columbia, Thomas was a research assistant at Yale University and the Canadian Indigenous charity Indspire working on several projects in political economy, labor economics, and barriers to post-secondary education among URMs. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Saskatchewan and a bachelor’s in Mathematics and Economics from Mount Saint Vincent University.
