
Jared Mahoney is a research assistant at CCRC who works on projects examining federal work study and corequisite implementation in STEM courses. He is currently enrolled as an MEd student in the Teaching of Social Studies program at Teachers College, Columbia University and received his bachelor’s degree in education at Temple University in Philadelphia. Previously, Mahoney contributed to research teams focused on discussion facilitation skills among emerging teachers and curriculum development in social studies classrooms, alongside his experience as a high school social studies teacher. Mahoney’s research interests include the role of education in building a more civic-minded world, creating equitable educational spaces, and promoting literacy through historical learning.
