Jasmin Sandelson is senior editor at CCRC, where she serves as the primary editor for research publications. She brings more than a decade of experience translating rigorous social policy research into clear and consequential narratives for varied audiences.
As research manager and editor at Columbia University’s Justice Lab, she wrote, edited, and managed dozens of publications, including book chapters, academic articles, policy reports, briefs, and other public-facing writing. With Bruce Western and David Harding, she co-edited a commissioned volume of The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science and co-authored the introduction. Sandelson has also edited scholarship submitted to or published in the American Journal of Sociology and the American Sociological Review, and by the University of Chicago Press, The New Press, and Princeton University Press.
Sandelson holds a PhD in sociology from Harvard University and an MFA in nonfiction writing from NYU. She is the author of My Girls: The Power of Friendship in a Poor Neighborhood (University of California Press, 2023).
