Olga Rodriguez

Olga Rodriguez is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.  She holds Masters in Economics and Education from Teachers College and Bachelors in Economics-Mathematics and Spanish Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Her research interests include the use of economics and quantitative methods in examining policies and practices aimed at increasing the college enrollment and degree completion of low-income and minority students.  Olga’s research interests stem from her academic and personal experiences as the daughter of Mexican immigrants who is the first in her family to obtain a college degree.  She has participated in Upward Bound, EOP Summer Bridge, and since 2001 she has had the unconditional financial support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—all of which promote the success of low-income and minority students.
