Negar Farakish is the academic director and clinical assistant professor at the NYU School of Professional Studies, Division of Programs in Business. She holds an EdD in higher and postsecondary education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Farakish has over 20 years of experience in teaching and leadership at higher education institutions and has continually engaged in planning, development, supervision, and evaluation of academic and student services programs. She has also been involved in multiple initiatives, committees, and task forces at campus, state, and national levels and was the recipient of the Chair Academy's International Exemplary Leadership Award in 2015.
A student advocate, Farakish has taught and assisted wide-ranging groups of students from the academically underprepared to those pursuing highly competitive majors and careers. She engages in several scholarly activities, presents frequently at national conferences, and has coauthored two textbooks.
