Transforming Advising: Lessons from IPAS

Date and Time: February 24, 2016 10:45–11:45 AM
Location: Atlanta, GA
Venue: Hyatt Regency Atlanta

This session dug deeply into the advising reform process. Using in-depth data from colleges engaged in technology-mediated advising reform, this session provided insights that colleges can use as part of their own reform work. Lessons are relevant to advising and student support reforms, as well as other reform initiatives such as guided pathways. The session explored questions such as:

  • What is "transformation," and how is it different from other reform efforts?
  • What does technology-mediated advising look like?
  • How do colleges approach advising reform? and
  • What do successful college leaders do to encourage successful transformation?
