Research-Based Approaches for Instructional Development

Date and Time: April 15, 2019 8 a.m.–8:50 a.m.
Location: Orlando, FL
Venue: World Center Marriott | Grand Ballroom 10

Instruction is at the heart of the student experience in community colleges; however, many faculty have limited access to high-quality professional development that is focused on teaching. This is particularly true for the two-thirds of community college faculty who are part-time. This session presented findings from two mixed-method studies of faculty development approaches. It provided specific examples of how these strategies are being scaled to include part-time faculty and sustained at these institutions.
