How to Cut Excess Credits Without Compromising Educational Quality

Conference: American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Annual Convention
Date and Time: April 08, 2014 8:45–9:45 AM
Venue: Marriott Wardman Park | Jefferson

Many community college graduates earn substantially more credits than are required for their degrees. In response, policy makers often want to impose credit caps on degree programs, but faculty worry about the effects on quality. This session highlighted lessons from a successful statewide effort to streamline credit hour requirements. Participants learned how to organize a similar process in their colleges or states.
