Hard Work Worth Doing: How Advising Redesign Reveals Opportunities for Institutional Learning and Growth

During this presentation, one university shared its journey of implementing advising redesign over three semesters in the wake of an RCT aimed at enhancing academic advising and delivering targeted, personalized advising to students in need. Researchers and university personnel shared findings and lessons from the implementation fieldwork, along with internal and external data analysis. This interactive presentation highlighted how, through facilitating stakeholder engagement and applying a continuous improvement approach, the university was able to begin scaling several aspects of advising redesign across the institution. Presenters shared empirical findings and first-hand practitioner experiences in planning for, implementing, and scaling advising redesign.
