Developmental Reform for Equity and Completion

Date and Time: March 04, 2020 9 a.m.–12 noon
Location: Nashville, TN
Venue: Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center

For over a decade, reforms to developmental education have been implemented in community colleges across the United States. Despite improvements in access to college-level coursework, there has not been a substantial increase in completion rates and unequal outcomes by race, socioeconomic status, and English language proficiency persist. In this pre-conference session, CCRC's Jessica Brathwaite discussed the impact of current reforms and argued that the next decade of reforms should focus on increasing equity and completion rates.
