Adapting Lesson Study for Community College Mathematics Instruction

Lesson Study is a structured, collaborative professional development intervention that gives instructors a framework for actively investigating how to improve learning in their classrooms. This joint, interactive presentation will provide an overview of Lesson Study; offer examples of how one community college is using this approach in its math department; and share preliminary findings from qualitative research on faculty's initial perceptions and experiences in three colleges.
