Ahmet Besiroglu is a first-year quantitative methods master’s student at Columbia University. He holds a dual degree in economics and political science from Bogazici University, Turkey. He comes to CCRC with research experience at the Scientific Research Council of Turkey, where he worked on creating a prediction model of the high-frequency investment behavior of Turkish firms.
At CCRC, he utilizes his causal inference, data analysis, and data visualization skills to assist with research led by Nikki Edgecombe on the academic trajectories and outcomes of students in the City Colleges of Chicago. When he is not working or studying, he reads non-fiction, plays sports, and acts in short films.
