Dual enrollment has become one of the most prominent pathways to higher education, with nearly 2.5 million high school students taking college courses annually–offering them a valuable opportunity to earn college credits, explore career interests, and get a head start on a degree. Yet many high schools and families aren’t fully aware of how to help students make the most of these opportunities.
During this Next Office Hour, hosts will provide practical guidance for navigating dual enrollment options. Among the issues we’ll discuss, along with input from the live chat:
- Understanding the different types of dual enrollment programs available—from individual courses to early college high schools—and how to determine which options best fit a student’s goals.
- Tips for ensuring dual enrollment credits will transfer and apply to future college degree programs, helping reduce time and cost to graduation.
- Strategies for using dual enrollment to explore potential college majors and career paths while still in high school, building students’ confidence and college knowledge.
