The CCRC proposal assistant will work closely with our proposal development teams during the summer. Tasks include supporting research logistics, retrieving and reviewing research literature, and contributing to written products. Candidates must be proficient using the Microsoft Suite and Google apps and possess strong communications skills. Candidates should be resourceful, detail-oriented, and dependable and have a well-articulated interest in higher education and issues of access to and success in postsecondary education. Experience with community colleges is preferred. This is a summer position only.

  • Participate in proposal planning meetings, manage proposal timelines and checklists, and work closely with research and grants management staff to support all tasks related to proposal submission.
  • Compile and proofread proposal documents, including biosketches, references, human subject narratives, data management plans, and research narratives.
  • Search, manage, and organize research literature reviews and document citations.
  • Use data entry and management programs such as Excel and Dedoose to enter and organize research data.
  • Assist research teams as needed with notetaking and general background research, as well as with the organization and filing of research materials.
  • Coordinate proposal activities, including reaching out to potential research partners with requests related to participation in proposed projects.
  • Perform center-related tasks, such as filing, copying, scanning, scheduling, document dissemination, and shipping.
  • Participate in center events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work on deadline.
  • Good judgment, reliability, and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to begin immediately and work up to 35 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with community colleges.
  • Current Teachers College student.
