Adnan Moussa, Research Assistant

bio photo moussaAdnan Moussa conducts qualitative and quantitative research on state-led developmental education reforms at two- and four-year postsecondary institutions. His research interests include policies that impede students' enrollment and retention in higher education, especially for students who are first-generation, low-income, LGBTQ, and of color. He is currently working on the Scaling Mathematics Pathways project and with the Center for Analysis of Postsecondary Readiness.

Before joining CCRC, Moussa worked with underrepresented students graduating high school and transitioning into college. Most recently, he has worked with students in foster care, advocating for their rights to equal opportunities and providing close mentorship to encourage students to complete high school, secure funding, and succeed in their first year in college. Moussa has also taught at Baruch College, where he helped design a curriculum that acclimates incoming students and integrates the academic and social spectrums of the college experience.

Moussa is currently pursuing an MA in education policy at Teachers College. He holds a BA from Wayne State University and an MA from New York University, both in Near Eastern studies.
