Education Week's Report Roundup - College and Careers

By: Alyson Klein — Education Week (May 17, 2006), pp. 12.

The CCRC report, Strengthening Transitions by Encouraging Career Pathways: A Look at State Policies and Practices is featured in Education Week's Report Roundup for the week of May 17, 2006. In the Report Roundup, reporter Alyson Klein writes:

"The report—produced by the Community College Research Center, a New York City-based consortium of community college researchers—highlights Florida’s decision, for instance, to allow high school students to take classes for high school credit at technical colleges if they maintain a 2.0 grade-point- average or at 4-year colleges or universities if they have a 3.0 GPA. But it also notes that states still must work to align career technical education with high school academic courses and provide incentives for employers to help students make the transition to the labor market."
