A CCRC analysis of Florida community college revealed that older students are more likely to complete a degree or certificate when math test scores are accounted for.

In a 2007 study, CCRC tested the hypothesis that older students enrolled in Florida community college are less likely than younger ones to complete a degree or certificate. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, researchers found that after controlling for cognitive mathematics ability, older students have a higher conditional probability of completing a degree or certificate in the observed event period.
